Welcome to M’s Living – A Bridge Between Japanese Tradition and UAE Culture

Welcome to M’s Living – A Bridge Between Japanese Tradition and UAE Culture

Hello, I’m Miyuki, co-founder of M’s Living. Thank you for visiting our store.

Having lived in Dubai for nearly 10 years, I’ve come to appreciate both my Japanese heritage and the multicultural environment of the UAE. The longer I’ve lived abroad, the more I’ve come to cherish my roots. I’m often surrounded by Japanese products, and over time, my friends here have frequently asked me where I found them. When I told them they were from Japan, their reactions were often of disappointment—realizing that many of the products they were looking for simply weren’t available here.

This sparked an idea: What if I could bring authentic Japanese products to the UAE?

Japan is home to a wide range of high-quality goods, many of which are hard to find outside the country. And when Japanese products are available, they are often either overpriced (especially compared to their prices in Japan) or marketed as "Japanese" but are actually not made in Japan. That’s where M’s Living comes in. Our mission is to provide genuine, affordable Japanese products to the UAE, without the premium price tag.

A Commitment to High-Quality Products and Sustainability

I’ve also noticed a trend here where the aesthetics of products are highly valued, and the packaging is often elaborate. While I understand the appeal of beautiful packaging, I believe that it often leads to waste once the product is opened. At M’s Living, we want to keep our products simple, functional, and affordable. We’ve chosen to prioritize the quality of the product itself over costly packaging. Our goal is to make high-quality Japanese goods accessible to everyone, without inflating prices for packaging that may not be necessary.

Supporting Small Businesses in Japan

Like many advanced countries, Japan is facing challenges such as an aging population and economic shifts, which have affected small businesses that produce authentic, locally made products. These businesses often don’t have the resources to export their goods overseas. This is where we can contribute—by using my experience living abroad to bridge the gap between these artisans and customers here in the UAE. Instead of just purchasing products, I personally visit these small businesses, learn their stories, and connect with the passionate people behind them. By doing so, I can help bring their products to a wider audience while supporting the people who are keeping traditional craftsmanship alive.

Two Cultures, One Vision

Lastly, I’d like to share that M’s Living is co-owned with my Emirati partner, Ahmed, who is a huge fan of Japanese culture. Together, we have poured our hearts into building a unique store that combines our mutual love for Japan and our shared vision of connecting two rich cultures. We’re here to represent both Japan and the UAE, bridging the gap between these two beautiful worlds.

We hope that through our store, you can discover and appreciate the true essence of Japanese craftsmanship—affordable, authentic, and accessible.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We look forward to welcoming you to M’s Living.
